Curtis Schlosser and his neighbor, who had both dealt with break-ins and vandalism at their residences over the past few years, put a fence up near their Urban Road properties that blocks public access to the Thompson River.
The Dallas city council ordered the men to remove the fence, since public access to the river was required every 200 meters in that subdivision. Others in the neighborhood claim they have never seen trouble around the subdivision as described by the men, and a large number of residents signed a petition to have the men take down the fence.
The dispute has yet to be resolved, but there is hope of a compromise being agreed upon.
